Since 1966 BCM has been committed to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of Birmingham and challenging them to consider their need of God.
City centre outreach
50 years ago BCM’s work began with open-air mission in the Bull Ring. Now, every Tuesday and Saturday, our team of missionaries and volunteers can be found sharing the Christian message in the city centre. The work can be challenging, but the opportunities to talk to people from all over the world and of many different faiths are great.
On Wednesdays BCM missionary Bernd Scholz runs a Christian bookstall in the Bull Ring Open Market. He distributes and sells books and literature, builds relationships with other stall holders and shares the Christian message with those passing by.
District outreach
Each week our missionaries spend days working in their own districts, knocking on doors, building relationships, studying the Bible and offering practical help where needed. The work often takes place alongside local churches. Working door to door is not glamorous and can be tough, but many who have first heard about Jesus on the doorstep have come to know him as their Saviour.
As they share their faith with the people of Birmingham, BCM missionaries make great use of the Good News paper – click here to find out more.
