OFFICE MANAGER
FULL OR PART-TIME POSITION
Birmingham City Mission is looking to recruit an Office Manager. The role oversees the running of the Mission’s General Office.
The successful candidate will be a practising evangelical Christian in sympathy with BCM’s Basis of Faith.
They will have experience in working with computer software (Word, Excel etc), letter writing, dealing with phone calls and visitors.
Other duties include acknowledging monetary and other donations received, ensuring databases are updated, producing staff rotas and other forms required, keeping stationery stocks updated, organising the BCM Annual Retreat and other events, dealing with DBS applications and enquiries, attending and taking minutes at Heads of Department quarterly meetings.
They will also be responsible for overseeing the work of the Office Assistant, plus liaising and giving administration support to other departments of BCM.
Some knowledge and experience of Human Resource practice and systems would also be advantageous.
Training will be provided.

CHILDREN’S EVANGELIST
FULL OR PART-TIME
There is an opportunity for a Children’s Worker with a passion for outreach to join an existing team serving Birmingham children aged 5 -11 years. Most of the work takes place in primary schools and comprises: leading acts of collective worship, taking part in RE lessons and leading after school clubs. The team reaches approximately 30,000 children with the gospel message. The team is also involved in holiday clubs, weekend camps, and other outreach activities designed for 5 -11s.
The ideal candidate will be a godly evangelical Christian who will have demonstrated a ‘heart’ for children’s ministry. He or she will have worked with children in either a paid or voluntary capacity on a full or part-time basis, possibly as a post-graduate ministry trainee.
The candidate will have:
a full driving licence;
the personality and ability to engage children’s interest;
experience in delivering Christian material to children; and
some formal training in Bible handling or be willing to be trained.
The offer of this post will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references.
