BCM City Missionary Francis Williamson first met Jade when he was visiting his neighbourhood door to door. She looks after her three children on her own and it is not easy.
Jade’s family is one of the 1,485 helped through the ToyLink project this Christmas. She said, ‘ToyLink helps me financially and makes the children happy. It is a great help for anyone who is struggling. It’s not about the amount of presents we get, but about knowing people care.’
Francis continues to support Jade and her family. He said, ‘It was great they came to the carol service before Christmas and are continuing to connect with church activities and clubs.’
One of our ToyLink referring agencies was a centre which works with refugees coming from many countries, including those escaping Afghanistan last year. They wrote to say ‘a big thank you for making such a difference to the families we work with – they were overwhelmed by the presents.’
THANK YOU to the dozens of local businesses and organisations which got stuck in to ToyLink this Christmas – collecting toys and money, sending wrappers, routing and delivering. And to the countless churches, schools and individuals who gave so much time, money and energy to completing the mammoth ToyLink task this time. With record numbers of families referred and Omicron to contend with it was a challenging one!
