As we often say at the Care Centre, for every meal we serve, every hot drink we offer, every coat we hand out or every time we offer practical support, there is no greater gift we can offer than God’s Word. What a privilege it has therefore been to safely use the building again for a Bible group.
Most weeks on a Thursday afternoon 5-10 guests join us to watch a series of DVDs explaining the Gospel. Nobody is dragged in kicking and screaming. It’s for those who have shown interest in knowing more about Jesus. Amidst the somewhat chaotic lives of our guests, we join in a time of fellowship and prayer to discuss the price that was paid for us on the cross. We have invited a local church to join us so the guests have an option of worshipping with them on a Sunday. We long to see lives changed and we know that God transforms hearts. Yet we are constantly reminded that it’s His timing, not ours. We can only continue to show, to speak, to serve and to pray. We value your prayers that lives would be transformed.
Pray too for Alec Petson, one of our interns last year. We are delighted he has now joined the Care Centre staff team as a Support Worker.
