The BCM Resource Centre distributes essential goods – food, clothing and furniture – to those in need. Clients may be living in a hostel or moving into their own accommodation, a parent struggling to feed a family or homeless and needing a change of clothes or food. Some of the clothing and furniture is sold at a low cost to those who can afford it. Beyond this practical provision, our committed team of staff and volunteers is concerned with helping clients through friendship, advice and care. We partner with Social Services and over 30 agencies who refer clients to us.
Food parcels
Families and individuals finding it hard to make ends meet receive food parcels from the Resource Centre. Each month over 200 parcels are given out and every year over 1,000 people helped.
Furniture
Each week approximately 5 furniture starter packs are delivered to people moving into their own accommodation.
Clothing
Around 1,700 free changes of clothes are given each year.
