Christmas Appeal 2025

This Christmas please make a donation and help BCM care for struggling families, the homeless and older people, and to be a friend to the lonely.

Christmas can be full of joy as we give and receive gifts, spend time with loved ones and enjoy good food. But we know that for many it is a time of fear, sadness and loneliness. Thousands in our city are homeless or threatened with homelessness.  Many are anxious about bills and putting food on the table. Many are alone, remembering lost family and broken relationships.

At Birmingham City Mission we seek to help those who are afraid and struggling. We will distribute thousands of toys to families in need.  We will care for the homeless and elderly.  We will provide food to people who cannot afford to buy it. We will be a friend to the lonely.

More than 2,000 years ago, in a field outside Bethlehem, an angel announced the birth of a Saviour to a group of shepherds. The angel told them not to be afraid because he had joyful news - for them and for everyone.

‘Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.’

That Saviour was Jesus and, ultimately, only He can take away our fear and be our joy and peace in life and beyond. Please give a special gift this Christmas to help us share God’s love across Birmingham. We couldn’t do this without your generosity.

Thank you, and ‘may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.’ (Romans 15:13)
